Helping improve the green environment and creating a community hub

About The Friends of Barnsbury Square Gardens

The Friends of Barnsbury Square Gardens are a team of volunteers made up of local residents who work alongside Islington Council teams to improve and maintain the green environment of the square, and create a community hub where people of all ages feel welcome.  More volunteers are always needed!

The Friends of Barnsbury Square Gardens also apply for grants and funding, and have successfully applied for grants to renovate the hut kitchen for instance, so that we can hold community events, and for the costs of substantial new planting/soil etc.  We host school visits, one-off events like seasonal parties for the local community, artist-in-residence visits,  and we get Barnsbury Square Gardens included in London-wide events.  We’re also running a free book swap at the hut on sunny days.

Contact: friendsofbsg@aol.com or look on notice boards in and around the square for details of gardening sessions etc.  If you’d like to donate to FOBSG, check out our GoFundMe page.  Our next FOBSG general meeting will be on Thursday 10th March 6.30pm by Zoom.   Details will go up in due course.
