Come over and enjoy this lovely space with family, friends, or neighbours over springtime.  You can watch the sunlight streaming through the trees, walk around, listen to the birds, sit and read, study, look at the plants, or browse through our free community book swap – the bookcase is on the brick shed wall.  

There are all kinds of ways you can help wildlife, planting, and your local community in the square -volunteers are always welcome to help us with working on the green environment for example.  FOBSG volunteers are often around during the day, and regularly on Saturday mornings from 10am, so do feel free to have a chat with them, and they can answer any questions you might have.  Make yourself a free tea or coffee in the hut kitchen – it’s usually open when the volunteers are in.  This spring there will be additional external volunteer teams working on repainting the railings around the square as well. You can also follow us on instagram at barnsburysquare_official and we have a GoFundMe page if you’d like to make a donation.  Barnsbury Square Gardens is a Site of Interest for Nature Conservation and FOBSG are also a 2023-24 Green Flag Community Award winner. FOBSG work in partnership with Islington Council teams.
